Graduate Assistant - CAHSS Summer Assistant

Graduate Assistants, under the close supervision of staff, may perform duties to support university, program or college. At the discretion of the assigned staff, duties may include, but are not limited to:
 
  • Providing general assistance to staff.
  • Providing support for programs, events or projects on behalf of university.
  • Providing web page management.
  • Providing training.
  • Preparing and developing reports
  • Writing, editing, and releasing communications to faculty, staff, students, prospective students, community organizations, etc.
  • Regularly checking university email account and timely responding to messages from supervisor
  • Performing other related duties as assigned or required.

This position is for College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences and will report to Undergraduate/Graduate Service Administrator - Jazmine Jackson.  

Required Qualifications:

Applicants must have a demonstrated knowledge in English.

Applicants must have a class standing as graduate student.

Applicants must have experience with the Microsoft Word Suite including word and excel, Google Docs, strong interpersonal communication skills, confidentiality, and social media familiarity.

Applicants must be reliable, patient, responsive, organized, sensitive to the needs of a diverse population, willing to follow direction, take initiative, and need to be able to work independently.

Applicant must be able to work with others at all levels, have a professional demeanor, excellent interpersonal skills, strong oral and written communication skills, and emotional intelligence.

Applicant must be able to manage conflict, collaborate and work effectively both independently and as a member of a team.
