Early Learning Supervisor of Enrollment, Family & Community Services

Overview of Position

This position coordinates planning and implementation of enrollment services, and family and community engagement for the Head Start program.  This role also monitors Head Start Performance Standards, and ensures compliance with other applicable laws, regulations and District policies. In addition, this position oversees the implementation of Family Partnerships, Family Engagement, and Parent Involvement and establishes and maintains community partnerships.
 

Essential Functions

  • Coordinates the day to day operations of the Head Start recruitment and enrollment process and ensures timely program enrollment.
  • Determines student participation in accordance with Federal Regulations regarding eligibility, data collection and recordkeeping.

  • Supervises family service staff, including monitoring of Family Partnerships and Parent Engagement.
  • Provides for training, coaching, discipline and evaluation.
  • Assesses staff professional development and training needs and establishes and implements training plans.

  • Oversees implementation of Parent Involvement activities, working with the Parent Involvement Coordinator, to include parent training, Policy Council operation, and program volunteers.
  • Tracks and analyzes parent participation data.
  • Provides reports and recommends improvements.

  • Establishes and maintains relationships with community organizations.
  • Actively seeks, develops, facilitates and maintains formal partnerships.
  • Disseminates information to program staff.
  • Links with District resources to assure collaboration with other appropriate departments.
  • Implements the recruitment plan through outreach activities to ensure full enrollment.

  • Implements a monitoring system, developing reports for assigned areas.
  • Analyzes and monitors data for continuous improvement and provides periodic reports.

  • Communicates clearly with and attends to the needs of culturally diverse audiences.
  • Attends ongoing culturally relevant professional development classes and applies these skills in systemic improvements.

  • Collaborates with the Head Start Leadership team in developing program planning and goals, program improvement, policies and procedures, and in planning and implementation of Family Engagement activities.
