Are you passionate about fostering strong professional relationships with the recreating public and WDFW through exceptional customer service?

As part of the Wildlife Program’s Administrative Support Team, you will provide assistance and guidance to internal and external customers through positive interactions.

With your experience, you will apply processes, rules, and regulations to support Wildlife Program customers with the Washington Interactive Licensing Division (WILD) system and general inquiries.

 

What to Expect-

Among the varied range of responsibilities held within this role, the Customer Service Specialist 2 will,

Provide customer service to customers:

  • Interact with internal and external customers by telephone, electronically, or face to face.
  • Provide agency interpretation and apply knowledge of laws, regulations, and processes to address customer inquiries related to land access programs, wildlife interactions, and hunting regulations.
  • Assist hunters with navigation, interpretation, and application of information contained in complementary data resources (such as hunting regulations maps, hunting prospects, and private lands access programs).
  • Direct customer calls to appropriate agency contacts.
  • In the Washington Interactive Licensing Division (WILD) system, restore special hunt permit points for individuals who meet the point restoration standard operating procedure requirements and create a ticket in their profile for tracking purposes.
  • Maintain records of customer correspondence, following agency records retention schedules.
  • Greet Wildlife Program visitors and call their agency contact to meet them in the reception area and accompany them to work areas.

Perform clerical support activities for program staff members:

  • Receive goods and services utilizing the appropriate processes.
  • Complete project requests from Wildlife Program staff members (such as updating databases, performing data entry, and mailing packages).

 

Working Conditions:

Work Setting, including hazards: Duties are performed in an office setting. This position requires extensive computer use. Telework/remote options are not available. 

Schedule: Typically, Monday – Friday, 8:00 A.M – 5:00 P.M.

Travel Requirements: May travel occasionally to attend meetings or training sessions.

 

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED equivalent.

AND 

Six (6) months of customer service experience, which includes providing assistance to clients/customers regarding inquiries, complaints, or problems.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

In addition to the required qualifications, our ideal applicant will possess some or all the following:

  • Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree, or vocational certification.
  • Working knowledge of the WILD Business Rules and Requirements.

Experience with:

  • The Washington Interactive Licensing Division (WILD) System.
  • Responding to inquiries related to WDFW Hunting and Fishing Regulations.
  • Implementing WDFW Licensing Division Policies and Procedures.
  • Utilizing WDFW Licensing Division fulfillment and distribution channels for Recreational Customer Service Center, Dealer, and Commercial Units.
  • Internet Point of Sales & Point of Sale Applications to complete customer sales.
  • Utilizing and implementing Customer Service Center Processes and Procedures.
