Lab Assistant 1 - Nursing
Lab Assistant 1, under general supervision, performs diversified laboratory duties which may be routine or repetitive and may require the use of varied procedures. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Performing a small number of technical functions with clearly prescribed methods and materials to be used, or a single technical function requiring limited decision making in the selection of materials and methods.
- Performing routine set-up and clean-up of laboratory equipment.
- Maintain appropriate records
- May suggest simple procedural or methods revisions.
- Report any concerns about the lab operation to their supervisor or designee
- Provide customer service and provide technical support and assistance for students
- Performing other related duties as assigned or required.
Set up and take down for weekly skills and simulation labs, including equipment set up and cleaning, and manikin preparation and cleaning for five lab stations and two simulation bays. Wash laundry and re-make beds weekly. Organize equipment and supplies in two storage rooms. Assist with inventory management. Position requires familiarity with nursing equipment and supplies as well as nursing skills and simulation lab policies and procedures.
This position will report to the Nursing department and Heather Lawson
This position is located in the SIERR Building in downtown Spokane
This position will work no more than 19 hours per week
