POSITION

In this role, you will thrive with various water/wastewater engineering project design opportunities. The Engineer will support the planning, designing, permitting, assisting, funding, bidding, and performing construction administration of water and wastewater infrastructure. Project work focuses on water intake, treatment, pumping, storage and distribution, and wastewater collection, pumping, and treatment. These responsibilities include:

 

  • In conjunction with the Operations Manager, develop and grow client base and project team for water/wastewater work. 
  • Prepare plans, specifications, costs, and estimates for municipal and industrial water and wastewater facilities.
  • Leverage design software to create project designs, draft plans, drawings, and models according to project specifications.
  • Completes project tasks from start to finish, supporting project and client services managers.
  • Provide job site support and observation and monitor construction progress.
  • Support project managers with construction administration tasks, including submittal and RFI review, progress payment review, compliance with funding agency provisions, and oversight of onsite RPRs.
  • Analyze facilities for system deficiencies regarding compliance with local, state, and federal standards and regulations. Provide improvement alternatives to meet compliance with such regulations.
  • Assist the Project Manager and Client Service Manager in engaging with community members, government officials, and other stakeholders to communicate project goals, address concerns, and gather input on water and wastewater initiatives.
  • Develop and mentor junior engineering professionals.

YOUR STRENGTHS

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4+ years design experience in water and wastewater projects
  • PE license preferred or able to obtain after-hire
  • Project management experience leading complex projects
  • Design software experience in Civil 3D or similar
  • Experienced with Hydraulic modeling software or similar 
  • Knowledge of engineering planning studies
  • Strong communication, both verbal and written
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable record for travel
